Sydney - eTags and Tolls

Discussion in 'New Riders and Riding Tips' started by Riderman, Jan 6, 2010.

  1. Hi guys,

    Another newb question -

    I've tried searching but couldn't find anything specific - if I access the harbour bridge and/or tunnel (sydney), how do I pay the toll? Are bikes exempt from tolls?

    Thanks for your help.

    Is this still relevant; http://www.smh.com.au/news/national...r-motorcyclists/2009/01/05/1231003937337.html
  2. No bikes are not exempt at all. Both my g/friend and I use the waterproof "Toll Rider" pouches for our RTA tags which utilises a strong magnet to attach 'em to the bike's petrol tank. They work well but the $38 price tag is a bit on the expensive side.
  3. & before someone asks.

    In Melbourne;
    CityLink - Bikes No Tolls
    EastLink - Bikes pay tolls
  4. you should just get an etag for your car and link the licence plate of your bike to it, because half the time you go through the toll point without the tag, the camera misses you or something and you dont pay the toll ;)
