SV1000 (03) Foot pedal adjustment

Discussion in 'Bling and Appearance' at netrider.net.au started by Lectre, Jul 19, 2007.

  1. hey all.
Anyone know how to lower the gear lever/brake pedal on an SV1k? The brake seems pretty self explanatory, but the gear selector confuses (and annoys) me.
    Cheers :)

  2. Starting from the gear lever and working back, the lever is connected to a shaft that travels towards the front of the bike, to a connector on a ball and socket type arrangement.

The connector then is on a toothed mechanism with the gearbox internals. If you undo the connector, slide it off (away from the bike) you can then adjust the initial position. I can't remember which way you should turn the connector.

  4. Off the top of my head you will want to move it a tooth clock wise to lower the lever.

I'll be doing this tomorrow to my SV1000S.
