Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' at netrider.net.au started by Billsy, Jun 11, 2007.

  1. Hey fellas...got squeaky rear brakes and was wanting to know how to remove pads...done a car but not a bike...same principal?

  2. There is a plastic inspection cover on the caliper. To remove them there should be some small r clips holding in two rods.

You will need to push the pistons back using something. The back is an opposed piston so a g clamp wont help. There is a special tool available otherwise leaving the old pads in and trying to lever them back in with a flat screwdriver is probably the best way.

Dont forget to loosen the lid on the brake reservior :D
