Stop Smoke - thoughts

Discussion in 'Bling and Appearance' started by mattb, Mar 8, 2007.

  1. I'm thinking of using one of the various brands of products typically called Stop Smoke
    (eg http://www.nulon.com.au/products.php?productId=ss)
as my bike, which is long in the tooth, is blowing a bit of the stuff, and it stinks of burnt oil! Are these products ok for bikes such as my '83 Kwaka?

Has anybody any similar thoughts on a worn engine treatment?
    (eg http://www.nulon.com.au/products.php?productId=e10)

  2. dont know if you read this part but anyway

  3. Stop smoke is just (overpriced) thicker oil designed to increase the overall viscosity of what's in the engine. Really if your engine is that badly worn you should probably just switch to a thicker grade oil designed for high mileage engines (ie instead of using 10w-40 try a 15w-50).
  4. Yep we used to use really thick oil in our cars when they smoked a bit too much, this was of course untill they finally blew up for good.
