Stookie is staying

Discussion in 'General Motorcycling Discussion' at netrider.net.au started by Removed_User_5, Oct 7, 2005.

  1. For all the new freinds ive met at netrider you may know of the difficulties Ive been going through with immigration issues and getting a Visa to stay working in the country. Because my job is VERY specialist it seems to have taken the immigration dept 8 months to actually comprehend what I do.
So after a lot of stress and money I have just had my Visa granted for another 4 years.
Everything was a bit hairy there for a while as if my visa got knocked back then i would have had 2 months to leave the country and I would lose my bike and have to resit all the tests and stuff all over again just to ride in the wet every day on nothing bigger than a 125cc.....

So Im in now but still only another 4 years but its enough right now.

    Phew...!

So i guess you will all have to put up with the mad scotsman a little while longer........lucky people, i like to think I add to the cultural diversity.

  2. Well done. Immigration Dept sucks.

(My S.O. is doing some work with refugees)

    Love your sig.

    Have you read
"Gödel, Escher, Bach" by Douglas R. Hofstadter?

It explores, among other things, the idea that "music is math"

  14. That's alright - I've exported my daughter over there...

She's now in Edinburgh and has landed a job as door biatch at a nightclub

I think she's wishing she could have taken the Spada with her since the weathers been pretty good the last few weeks...

She's getting around on a bicycle and has lost 4 kilos already

  19. Well done Stookie! I feel your pain. Dealing with DIMIA is never quick or easy. After 14 months of waiting, several thousands of dollars and 6 chest X-rays late (in that time), I have been granted pre-approval for residency. So all that remains if for me to bugger off get my passport stamped and come back to be an Aussie resident. So fair dinkum ya flamin' drongo! :D
