stator and flywheel bathed in oil?

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' at netrider.net.au started by philmydang, Mar 3, 2010.

  1. So I just removed the left cover and a whole lot of oil just bled out. Panicked so i quickly put it back on and bolted it up. Is the stator/flywheel supposed to be covered in oil? or have i got a leak where i shouldn't.

    Bike is a 97 Honda vt600c

  2. Some bikes have dry alternators but most I've come across are wet, so I doubt if it's anything to worry about.
