Staintune exhaust for VTR 250 - Rejetting required??

Discussion in 'Modifications and Projects' started by oliver, Oct 30, 2008.

  1. Have decided to get a staintune exhaust for the little 250.
For those that have done this already, is it simply a matter of cutting the stock can off and clamping on the new one and it's right to go, or will the bike require tuning/and or rejetting to avoid it running too lean?

  2. Hey Ollie!

    Cut the old can off.

    Fit the new muffler.

Screw in the idle/air mixture screws until they lightly seat.

Unscrew idle/air mixture screws 2.5 turns.

  3. I put a staintune on one and didn't change anything. Still went very well and sounded great.
