SRV 250 Renaissa tips?

Discussion in 'Bike Reviews, Questions and Suggestions' started by DeeTee, Mar 19, 2007.

  1. Have spotted a nice little bike for sale in the paper but it has about 75000 km's on it, what should I be looking for, the ad says the bike has new chain and sprockets and new tyres. Has anyone had much experience with these?,
Have seen a few in the past and really like the look of them. and I'm told they are really reliable because of the virago motor.

Priced at about $3500, is that too much? its a 98 model I think.

any ideas or advice would be great
  2. 75000km is a lot of work for a 250 to do.

It's going to need a lot spent on it in the next couple of years.

All that aside, there is a thread here somewhere on the usual things to look for.

the virago engine does cam chain tensioner, so beware of that along with the associated cam chain and valves.
