Squeal when warm (> 40 mins riding)

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' at netrider.net.au started by duncan_bayne, Jun 4, 2012.

  1. My '82 GS1100G makes a squealing sound (sounds like it's from the top end?) once she's good and warm - usually after ~ 40 minutes riding.

My plan is to ride her for an hour or so before taking her to the mechanic on Thursday, so they don't have to ride her around to repro it.

But I was wondering if anyone has experienced this before? It doesn't seem to impact performance, smoothness, starting etc. etc. but it's got me bothered because I can't explain it.
  2. My ex wife to a tee.
TIP-dont take her to the mechanic.
  3. The good folks at the GS Resources reckon it's a failing tacho or speedo cable. That fits; the tacho cable has already failed and been removed.
  4. GS Resources,whats that-a mining company ?
