Spada Timing chain

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' started by gre03, Aug 22, 2016.

  1. Hi, stupid question. Does a Spada (or any V-Twin for that matter) have 1 timing chain or 2? i've found a new chain online but not sure if i need to buy 1 or 2.

  2. 1 only timing chain. The old Honda CBR1000F models had 3 chains in them, but only 1 was for timing.

  3. Thanks, I've bought the timing chain, i would imaging i might need new gaskets? The ones on ebay are just silicone, might the current ones be good enough?
Is there anything else i need to buy? when i take it to the mechanic can they leave the current oil in as i just changed it.
  4. are you sure it's only 1 timing chain? the mechanic seemed to think i'll need 2.
  5. Yes, you will need two.
  6. Yes, 1 for each head being v-twin, wasn't thinking ten when I first replied.
