Spada Rear Brakes

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' started by bass_player, Jan 12, 2006.

  1. I've just replaced the rear pads on my spada this week. Now I have less braking power than before. There is also a scraping/grinding (not metallic) noise when I go hard on the rear brake. Anyone know what the cause could be? I am replacing the rear brake fluid reservoir today (if i can find one from the wreckers) as the old one cant be opened because the bloody screws are threaded. I will then bleed the brales and replace with fresh fluid. If this doesn't help then I am stumped. Any ideas?

  2. Oh yeah I've also noticed the piston pushes back into the caliper rather easilly. Much more easilly than before replacing the pads.
  3. Sounds like wrong brake-pads, wrong compound. Get another, softer-compound set.
