  1. Head out of Perth toward Bunbury, then turn off toward Boyanup - the roads start to get better. Then take the left fork to Ferguson Valley, stop off at Gnomesville - has to be seen to be believed! Join the H'wy again at Kirup, then stop off at Balingup for a magic mushroom pie - after a hallucinatory feast, turn right on the BEST road in the SW - 47 km of magic twists and turns from Balingup to Nannup through the Jarrah forest. The road plunges into a shady tunnel of trees, past trendy rural retreats and hippie hideouts. Beware of the boys in blue chasing ferals harvesting mushrooms with mind bending qualities; a good sign is the Kombi van parked by the roadside! Nannup locals are recognisable by the eyebrows that meet in the middle, but they're harmless. Then head for the hilly, twisty road to Bridgetown, and so back to the City.....
