Smartphone Headphone Control

Discussion in 'Modifications and Projects' at netrider.net.au started by sushi, Feb 10, 2013.

  1. Hey,
This isnt very major, but recently i bought a smartphone and it came with in line controls. I thought that this control would be useful on my bike, because i use a simple pair of helmet speakers. I used an old starter button from a pocket bike to act as my inline control and i connected the SPIF and ground wires to it, with a headphone socket connecting to the ground, right and left speakers. Tested this out and it worked! The button is extremely useful because it allows me to rewind, fast forward, pause, play, skip, and previous song without having to pull, over and take my gloves off. The button did not quite fit on the bars but i cut it down slightly without impacting the protection from water and dust to the switch.

btw its the little yellow button
