shock rate information

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' started by ibast, Sep 5, 2009.

  1. Does anyone know of a resource on the interweb thingy that lists the rates of shocks for particular bike?

I suspect a suspension manufacturer may list them, but I can't find it.

Travel and other dimensional information would be a bonus.
  2. I found a racetech calculator online that calculates the correct rate for your weight & bike, but I had to dig the specs out of the service manual for the spring rates & travel...

Sorry, not much help to you.
  3. Yeah not sure if this is what MV is referring to, but at

(also you can find it at the current racetech site > search > spring rate search)

you can search for your spring rates.

Eg I punch in the Daytona details and it shows that the "stock rear shock spring rate" is 12.6 kg/mm, the "stock fork spring rate" is .900 kg/mm. Can't see that it lists travel though.
  4. thanks for that. I had that site in mind, but I couldn't find it.

I actually wanted the info for Project 440, but I'm leaning away from the single shock route at the moment.

Still it's good info to have.
