Servicing for Yamaha R1

Discussion in 'Bling and Appearance' started by itsmav, Feb 3, 2009.

  1. Hi All,

Have an 03 R1 which needs to be serviced. Though the oil etc are at good levels but have not got it serviced since i bought it almost 4 months back.

Am desperately looking for a good mechanic who knows his shit and is reasonable. (Went to Sydey City and they asked for close to $500 for a normal service)

I live in St Leonards so the closer the better.

    Inputs, please???

  2. Your garage, if your after just a basic service shouln't cost any more than $60 max. , and the tools to do that service and ever minor service from then on should cost about $100 (for good quality, with lifetime warrenty).
  3. Most of the guys here should be able to lend you a hand or head to some of the local city boys on Cbr250.com

  4. Lloyd Penn Motorcycles @ Artarmon - 5 mins from St. Leonards.

Do a search for his name on the forums and you'll see he's the man to go to.

I've been taking my various bikes there since 2001.
