Services - how often?

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' started by snake, May 21, 2010.

  1. Hey guys,
This may be a usual question.
I've recently purchased a 2007 Honda CBF250. Only been riden since late 2008. It has 7000km on the clock.

Anyway, he had this biked service twice and I have the books for it...

When would the next service be due? Is it at 10k.

Also - what are the intervals for the BIG services?

  2. The best be would be to consult the manufacturers hand book, but the service interval is usually 5-6000km with every second service listed as a 'major service.

If you really want to look after your engine, best to change your oil every 3000 km as thats about when the shear strength of the oil starts to drop off (usually characterised by a slightly more clunky gear change).

i run semi synthetic in my ZX14, I reckon fully synthetic oil is for track work and is a bit of overkill (no doubt people on here would differ on that one).

    have fun with it.

  3. Thanks mate
  4. I didnt get a f'ing manual only service history.

  5. You can get one from honda.
