Seat reupholstering

Discussion in 'Businesses and Service Providers' started by SpaceMonkey, Nov 12, 2013.

  1. I'm looking to get rid of the ugly couch of a seat on my GN250 with a cafe racer style unit. My first thought was to buy a cafe seat and modify the mounts, but a bike mechanic told me today that I could probably get the original seat reshaped and reupholstered for around $200, which would be around the same price as a new seat- and obviously it would then bolt straight up. Anyone know of an upholsterer in Sydney who can do this kinda thing?

  2. Theres a bloke in Goulburn - can't recall his name at the moment - but he's a seat specialist and not TOO far from you.

Ah, here you go - remembered the name and looked up his URL

    In Sydney itself, dunno.

http://www.acmseats.com.au have a good name too, although no personal experience with them.

    Hope the info helps mate.
  3. Awesome, thanks champ.
  4. No worries, hope you get some love.

    Happy arse equals happy ride.

  5. Aaaaaaaaand that last post reads TOTALLY wrong. Sheeeet.
  6. Lol
  7. Ended up taking it to Sydney Motor Trimmers in Alexandria, largely because they're close to home and work. They've quoted $220 for the reshape and reupholster, hopefully tomorrow i'll get time to drop in and check out the reshaped seat for approval before they cover it. Will post pics when done.

  8. Sorry, but that is so good it has to go into my signature so everyone can see it!
  9. Bugger. Doesn't seemed to have worked. Oh well.
