Scuff marks on leather

Discussion in 'Riding Gear and Bike Accessories/Parts' started by The Predecessor, May 7, 2009.

  1. Okay, so I went for a slide down the road on the weekend...

I have some scuff marks on my leather jacket, any suggestions as to how I can fix them up to make it look like new again?

They arent the worst of scuff marks, but they're still there... light, white, looking marks... Suggestions are appreciated :)
  2. I'd hit it with some 'leather food', or simply use boot polish on it. This latter will be easy if its a black jacket, but any other colours will probably benefit from just the leather food.

You may want to ask your local dealer about products available.

    Cheers - boingk
  3. Leathers are supposed to bear scars. So you can show them off without having to bear them yourself  .
  4. Is leather food a brand name? Where can you get it from?
  5. Yeah its a black jacket...

    boingk :?: :?: :?: :?:

Hahah.. maybe so, but I want my jacket to look schmick again :p
  6. Wouldn't using shoe polish rub off on clothes and such?
  7. Not if you buff it up properly. Would want to be a single-colour jacket though, or black could easily spread to other bits during application.
