Scraping noise at front - what the?!

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' started by TWARBI, Jun 29, 2007.

  1. This morn i noticed a scraping noise on the front end of my bike. A closer inspection of front guard showed no obvious sign of rubbing on tyre.

Any ideas on what this could be?

  2. brakes dragging? something up between brake pads and the disc?
  3. Jack the front of your bike up. Spin the wheel. Listen.
  4. ^ wot 'e said, guv.

I tip you mght have a little bit of grit in the front disc caliper(s).
  5. My SRX does this after riding thru a bit of debri (roadworks, gravel etc) the front guard doesn't hit the tyre, but is only a coupla mm away, (tyres nearly brand new). So anything that sticks to the tyre hits the guard, no great problem
  6. Hasnt done it since so pretty sure it has sorted itself out...

    Cheers for the advice guys!
