Scooter Security

Discussion in 'Scooters' at netrider.net.au started by Rode, Jan 31, 2008.

  1. Hi,
What does everyone do for keeping their Scooter secure when they park at night or in the city ???

I have heard a bit about disc locks but would like to get some feedback from other people especially if anyone is using one of these devices.

  2. The best security is Comp Insurance
  3. hahaha well said Supernego, well said indeed.

yeah i think the disc locks are reasonable, certainly better than nothing. Its basically a little lock that sits on the disc with a pin going through one of the little holes. Any movement triggers the alarm. More important than the alarm is that fact that the pin through the disc actually physically stops the wheel from rotating.

Yes, the baddies could simply pick up your scoot and carry it away, but its better than nothing.

The disc lock, like any security feature is not going to 100% prevent thefts but they all act as deterrents. Its all about making your bike that little bit less attractive to thieves. So if your bike is harder to steal than the one next to it, you should be fine.

edit: Xena pretty much have the disc lock market cornered.
