scooter sales peaked?

Discussion in 'Scooters' at netrider.net.au started by RacingTurtles, Apr 7, 2007.

  1. It is the accepted knowledge that scooter sales are rocketing up and up - however, sales figures for 2006 are now available and it turns out that both USA and NZ actually registered a drop in sales compared to 2005, despite modest growth in total sales of two-wheel vehicles.

What about Australia - do we have our sales figures available anywhere? Did we show the same trend, or are we going to show it this year? What would be the reasons? Discuss below :)
  2. try emailing scootersales.com.au their link ca be found at the bottom of the page as a text banner, see if they have the answers you seek
  3. i seem to recall that scooters are popular in the US but didnt take off in the extreme way they have here.

as with any boom, when it ends the "growth" in sales will plummet dramatically, even though overall volume probably wont go down too much.
  4.  Top
  5. I do hope the growth of both scooters and bikes continue to Greek proportions. It makes sense for people who live in the city to ride bikes to save fuel, help the environment and cheaper fuel prices.

If more people ride bikes then awareness will increase and it won't be so dangerous for us 2 wheel riders.
