scooter exhausts

Discussion in 'Scooters' at netrider.net.au started by magsnkev, Jan 22, 2008.

  1. Has anyone got any tips for covering over or getting rid of rust from the exhaust? Is there any kind of specialist paints out there that'll do the job?

  2. Yes, exhaust paint!

Scrub the exhaust the best you can, removing as much rust as you can. Then use some prep wash to clean it all up. Paint on some rust remover, wait a few minutes, remove the excess with a cloth. More prep wash, then the exhaust paint.
You will need to cure it as per the instructions on the can.

  3. Get a tube of autosol metal polish and have a decent go with that first.

  4. I dont know if this a daft question or not, but hypotheitcally, could you fit a modified exhaust system to a scooter so it was noisier? Not terribly noisy, but just so it had a bit of "pop"

  5. of course.

there are many aftermarket exhausts available, any decent dealer or scooter workshop could point you in the right direction.
