Saw this bike for sale...on it's side!

  1. At home here we have a bit of the main street that people use to try and sell vehicles. Looking this morning I saw a nice blue ZX-9R there for sale. I came back later and thought I'd have a bit closer look.

I noticed a scratched / cracked right fairing and a busted indicator. Hmm then I noticed the deep scratches in the exhaust. Ahh I thought, it's been dropped. Then I noticed the right rear-set snapped off and hanging by the brake hoses etc. Then I saw the amber plastic all over the ground and the little puddle of oil. Someone had apparently knocked the bike over. Picked it up and I rang the number on the bike, got a nice sounding girl who was pretty devestated that this had happened esp as they were trying to sell it.

What do people reckon? Is $8,500 ok for a 99 ZX-9R with about 60 thou on the clock? Oh and it's been dropped on the right side :?

Dangers of leaving a bike anywhere unsupervised.
  2. Sounds pretty high $ to me... particuarly with those kms on it. I would have thought more like $6000.
  3. Same, too spensy for that vintage.
