[SA] Does Losing Bike Ls affect Car Ps?

Discussion in 'Politics, Laws, Government & Insurance' started by Stueh, Apr 5, 2009.

  1. Just thought I might ask. I'm on my bike L Permit, and I'm on my car P1 permit (soon to be P2). If I were to lose my L permit on the bike for whatever reason, speeding, red light, etc. would I also lose my car P1s?

    Hoping someone knows for sure.

  2. You only have one permit/license. Yours has 2 classes which allows you to ride, under 'L' conditions and to drive, under 'P' conditions.

If you get any demerit points they come off the LICENSE, not the classes. If you lose the license before you qualify for a full license then you will have to re-apply for both classifications.

    See here.
  3. Aha!

Exactly the answer I needed. Thanks Metricryder!
