Running in bikes (z1000)

Discussion in 'Bling and Appearance' started by seb, Mar 15, 2005.

  1. hey All,
Not sure if this hould be here or in the 'maintenance' section... but here goes.

What are you thoughts /experiences with running in a bike?

Just bought a z1000 and the dealer told me no to worry too much about takin it easy.... but the manual says to keep it to 4000rpm max...?
Obvioulsy with a new bike, im itching to make it roar...

what do yall think on this matter?
Is running in still necesary or is the maanual too cautious?
  2. I would recommend taking it easy for as long as it spefiies (up to 4000rpm I dunno), then change the engine oil & let rip....
