Rocker cover gasket is sweating

Discussion in 'Maintenance and Servicing' started by dmrmgl, Nov 3, 2013.

  1. Hi guys,

I would like to hear some advises from you.

My 2006 Honda VTR 250 has sweating rocker cover gasket.

Its not really severe at all but keeps sweating.

I will drop by Honda dealer tomorrow for another part i have ordered before.

Should I put an order for gasket tomorrow?
  2. Be careful when using some gasket goo's / silicones.
Do not use too much especially avoid excess oozing past the matting surfaces internally ..you only need a small bead to break loose internally and it can block oil galleries leading to all sorts of expensive damage.

As suggested above loctite #3, is good because it is a 'non hardening gasket sealant'.
  3. thx for advises!
