  1. Some events get glamorised as the years go by; not this one. It was every bit as crazy, mad, dangerous and exciting then as it is watching it again now . All the US motorcycle magazines followed the AMA Championship closely, and this one event was the talk of the issue, and the Editor's comment, and discussion of it continued on for a few months later! No-one in the US was surprised when the man who did this went to Europe and won the 500cc World Championship in his first season.

Go to Google and type in TZ750 flat tracker and watch page after page scroll by; this is not just the stuff of legends, this IS a legend.
  2. He was also leading the 250 title against Ballington and Hansford when Carruthers pulled the pin to concentrate on the 500 title.
  3. yep, he was a special, King Kenny

Somewhere kicking around is a video of him riding the TZ Mile bike again in the last couple of years.....

I always remember he said that when he finished the race he had hay stuck in his right footpeg from where he'd been hanging it out in the cushion.....
  4. But that IS the footage I just posted, it's him riding it in 2009.
  5. Ah, well there's film of the original ride around too :)
  6. awesome.

Can't believe there's no wiki entry on the TZ750...
  7. rides okay for an old bastard
