Which engine oil should i be using on the Yamaha 03 R1?
Canola breaks down too quick. And if pre-used, your exhaust will smell like fish & chips.
Truffle oil is the business. Pigs may happen to follow you around though
<insert obvious 'so that's why the police harass R1 riders so much' joke here>
I didn't even think of that
Peanut oil is the shiznit, it a lighter weight so you need more of it (I think you double your normal weight oil), but it can get heaps hotter than canola before it catches on fire, this means more horsepower!
I recommend replacing both the RIGHT & LEFT oil with it though, not just the right.
A friend of mine has started using the Delo 15-40 multigrade in his R1. He reckons the shifting has improved 10 fold and the engine does not rattle as much on cold starts. Cheap too.
This manual has the oil spec in it, then you can go out and buy the shiz niz quality synthetic oil for it.
