RGV engine questions

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' started by summers000, Oct 19, 2005.

  1. Hey people looking at an RGV and ive got a few questions.
The guy says it has being recently rebuilt with bigger powervalves and oversized bottom end. Just wondering what this would do? Or is this just what they do to them when the original bores etc wear out?

    Thanks People

  2. Hey Kyle,
this is the little I know on the topic,
An Aprilia RS250 has a similar motor (if not the same),
Depends on the year of the bike, (see link below)
    My Bro has a 1999 RS250,
and had it modified by Stan Stevens, (he lives in London)
the effects of the mods you mentioned on his engine,
Increase in power and modified rev curve (torque and power)
    Oversized Bottom End:
    What was oversized?
If bearings where oversized, ie crank ground,
    Stronger bearings and extended life?

I know that this link is to a London based tuner,
but may help with the answers you are looking for,

ps the arrows racing exhausts help as well, and sound excellent, lol.
