Returning to biking

Discussion in 'Welcome Lounge' started by Crazykev, Dec 29, 2015.

  1. Hi guys,

A quick introduction...I've been away from biking for about 20 years or so, but have decided to get back into it again. Started off on Yamaha RD 350, then bought myself an Kawasaki ZZR1100 when I was 19 , then 6 months after buying this bike, I got knocked off I stopped riding.
Have started again with MT 07, then looking to upgrade to R1 in a couple of years.

Sorry in advance if I ask any thick questions!

    Best wishes

  4. Welcome to Netrider Kev...... And back to 2 wheels!:)
  5. Doesn't matter how long you are away, just as long as you eventually come back...
  6. Welcome back to riding and welcome to NR..

  7. Welcome mate, care to give us your thoughts on the changes in bikes between then and now?
  8. What year was your Yamaha RD350? I had an '86 RZ350 which I crashed :/
  9. Sure mate , from the new bikes that I've ridden so far ..
    * bikes these days , handle much better .
    * wow , I'm a big fan of ABS braking these days.
    * No , overheating issues with water cooled radiators / fan .

So enjoying riding again , just returned from 3 hr ride in the country :)
  10. Sure 1986 model Red & White .When I think back , it was amazing I stayed upright on the thing .. Had no power to get yourself away from danger .
  11. Yep that's what I had. It had quite a narrow powerband but when you hit it you really took off. That's why I crashed (plus being inexperienced)
  12. Hi and welcome from one Crazy to another. :)

I found my RZ250 had more than enough power to get you INTO danger.
  13. Lots of Crazy people out there for sure ;)
Maybe Crazycam , i was use to the power of 500 cc dirt bikes @ the time.
