replacing klr 650 lowering links with original links

Discussion in 'Technical and Troubleshooting Torque' at netrider.net.au started by theiceman, Mar 28, 2009.

  1. G'day Guys, can anyone walk me through the process of replacing the lowering links on klr 650 with the originals.. Is it just a matter of keeping pressure on suspension or is there more to it?? Thanks in anticipation.

  2. Yes. Lift rear of bike so suspension is unloaded, Undo suspension link bolts, remove bolts and links, replace with new links.
Order new bearings and seals for links as teh KLR is notorious for shagged bearings due to lack of lubricant or water. I would take the opportunity to lube teh entire rear suspension as tehy are known for lack of lube in the swingarm bearings too.

    Regards, Andrew.
  3. Thanks Andrew, Think I'll turn it over to a pro.
