Removing oil filler cap on GPX250R

Discussion in 'Bling and Appearance' started by Renee_AW, Feb 18, 2009.

  1. I checked my oil today & it is at the very bottom of the level so thought I should top up.

Problem - I can't undo the oil filler cap.

Does anyone have any tips or tricks for this?
  2. if it has a a ridge in the middle of it (like mine), get a shifter on it and that will crack it.
  3. My GPX is the same, i get a shifter and a rag so i don't scratch the filler cap.
  4. I use multi grips cause it's quicker than using a shifting spanner. So far they haven't scratched the cap but if they did it's not like anyone would give a shit. :)
  5. Good to hear that I'm not the only one who's had that problem. Personally I just got a nice strong man with tough fingers to loosen it for me
  6. Theres a whole at one end of it. Whack the end of a screwdriver in it and turn. Easy!
