Removing/ Cleaning NSR150SP Rims (Painted Aluminium)

Discussion in 'Bling and Appearance' started by Q, Aug 23, 2007.

  1. Hey guys,

Just wondering how I can clean the rims on the 150.

I tried helplessly to toothbrush it with detergent but I couldn't get my hands into all the spots and the grease was pretty much not budging.

I'm worried that if I use degreaser or other chemicals like metho etc. I may damage or fade the paint.

So I have resolved to removing the rims. How can I do this?

Any help is greatly appreciated especially from NSR owners who have done this before.

Please note that I don't exactly have a rear wheel stand and the bike has a single side arm setup...

    Thanks in advance,

  2. some things to use

    Mr Sheen
    Truckwash CT18

if you have a trolley jack , loosen the rear wheel nuts , jack up under the exhaust or fottpeg and let the bike rise up leaning on the side stand

    remove wheel and clean :)
  3. Thanks Johnnie5,

I've heard some bad stuff about WD40, degreaser and fading... :s

But I think the truckwash is in order.

Only problem now is lifting it up.
