Removing Anti-fog Coating

Discussion in 'Riding Gear and Bike Accessories/Parts' started by Tonbi, Dec 3, 2008.

  1. Howdy all,

For some reason the factory anti-fog coating on my clear visor has gone funny on me and the visor fogs up even more than my non anti-fog tinted visor. It also seems like it has a permanent film across it which causes a slight blur to everything.

So I've decided to try to remove the anti-fog coating and was wondering if anyone knew any methods to do this without damaging the visor itself?

  2. No promises but the dealer at bmw who owns a sport integral helmet removed his visor antifog coating putting the visor in the freezer, left a few hours, then he proceeded to peel it off.
I don't know if I would like to try that.
wouldn't it be better to just buy another visor?
  3. I had a badly screwed up iridium visor and to remove the coating I stuck it in the dishwasher.

Now I have a spare clear visor.
