Reduction in National Road Toll figures...

Discussion in 'Politics, Laws, Government & Insurance' started by hornet, Jul 14, 2008.

  1. .. for the most recent six months, fail to take into account the lowering of mileage being completed by vehicles as fuel prices spike. But just wait for the experts to come out and say it is the result of campaigns against speed.

  2. That's as obvious as the next line in the press statement..... "Due to this success, we are lowering our tolerances, increasing the number of cameras and doubling the fines to lower the toll even further " (or to make up the lost revenue caused by people driving less as fuel prices rise)
  3. Fancy a political figure pushing their own barrow! Who'da thought!

Mind you, the 'proposed changes' makes you wonder about whos barrow they are pushing.

"Australia - the lucky country, founded on good judgement, logic and scientific analysis, except for roads"
