Recall - honda cbr1000rr 06/07

  1. Honda issued a recall on its 2006-2007 cbr1000rr motorcycles, due to an improperly welded vent pipe in the fuel tank. Below is the actual recall notice...

    potential number of units affected :

    summary: certain motorcycles have an improper welded vent pipe in the bottom of the fuel tank. Due to vibration the improperly welded tanks may crack and drip fuel.

    Consequence: fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source can result in a fire.

    Remedy: dealers will inspect and replace the fuel tank free of charge. The recall is expected to begin during december 2007. Owners should contact their local Honda Specialists.

  2. I was looking at buying a CBR1000RR when I get off my 1year probationary, maybe not now. lol, many thanks for the info!!
  3. Why on earth not?? Honda have done the right thing and recalled the bike to fix the issue and now all is good. Unlike other korean based motorcycle companies who just put their heads in the sand and deny any major issues :roll:
  4. if you arent going to buy a bike, because of recalls, i suggest you return to commuting by foot.
    even your current ride had some factory recalls ;)
