RACV's RedSpot Congestion Survey - needs YOUR Motorcycle input.

Discussion in 'General Motorcycling Discussion' started by robsalvv, May 29, 2012.

  1. RACV has a regular red spot survey. It's where they canvass Melbournians to find out where the congestion spots are. http://www.redspotsurvey.com.au/

I think the RACV needs to wake up to motorcycling.

Fill out multiple surveys - it's not long, and notify them that you took to your motorbike to ease the congestion you experienced at each location you've reported. If you also click "other" in the survey, then you can leave a free text comment... perhaps you could let know what you thought about their anti motorcycling stance at the Victorian Parliamentary Inquiry.**

So guys and gals, if you were looking for a low level way to get activated, here is one.

    Hop to it!!

** RACV called for maintaining the safety levy and that it be used for engineering solutions, which they admitted that all road users benefited from, but they saw no reason to spread the levy across all road users.

RACV called for dropping any TAC Premium cross subsidy and setting a premium that reflects the injury risk of motorcycles... despite motorists causing the majority of injuries to riders.

RACV claimed that the rising percentage of the road toll that motorcyclists form indicated a rising and worrying fatality rate (what a bonehead statistical error - interestingly, the same one made by VicPol) and argued for stricter controls on the basis of this understanding.

...and other stuff. You can read their submission here: http://www.parliament.vic.gov.au/im...safety/Submissions/44-67/65_RACV_20092011.pdf

  2. You can also note that there is increasing incidences of congestion due to low level accidents caused by shit driving practices by ratshit cagers that should be addressed through targettimg of shit driving practices. No point having better roads if drivers don't know to use them.
  3. Done. "I ride a motorbike to reduce congestion & reduce travel times. I expect the RACV to be more supportive of motorcycling members."

  4. I am going to have fun with this..............
  5. Wasn't RACV the body who RSC submission was made by an ex-MUARC muppet?

MUARC was the body who convinced Vicroads that congestion is good for road safety. The first thing RACV can do is get rid of it's pro-congestion, anti-bike personnel.
  6. didnt the RACV sell us out also??
  7. What way?

  8. Why would they use something as unscientific as getting people to write in, when they could just have a look at google maps with traffic data?

Wait its the RACV that explains it, bunch of brainiacs over there.
  9. Presumably the squeaky wheel principle. People with something to report will make the effort.

  10. Well .. thats killed a couple of hours. A short survey that tells them nothing, just makes a reportable statistic.
