Racing- Mladin's lead reduced after 2nd race at Mid Ohio

Discussion in 'Racing, Motorsports, and Track Days' at netrider.net.au started by rc36, Jul 26, 2005.

  1. After convincingly winning the first race of the double-header at the Mid Ohio sports car course last weekend, Mladin's lead in the AMA Superbike championship was increased as closest rival (and team mate) Ben Spies could only manage 2nd place.

However, Mladin's dream run towards an unprecedented 6th AMA Championship took a hit in the 2nd race when he ran off the track while trying to avoid running over his downed team mate, Aaron Yates. He rejoined the race but finished in 30th place and out of the points.

The race was won by Ben Bostrom, from Miguel du Hamel, but Spies finished 3rd.
