R.I.P Don Lane

Discussion in 'The Pub' started by smee, Oct 22, 2009.

  1. He was, by all reports a delightful man with whom to work. From my side of the screen, he was a delight to watch. People like the Lanky Yank are always missed. Condolences to his family.
  2. Indeed, real entertainers (unlike today's crop that can only work with a canned laughter soundtrack) are getting fewer and fewer. For those of us who can remember him at his best, it's a sad day today.
  3. As a kid , I can remember being allowed to watch the show at times.

I think he had been ill for awhile though.

Channel 9 is showing a special at 8:30 tonight for anyone interested
  4. R.I.P indeed, was a good man
  5. R.I.P. Don.
He was a genuine entertainer. I remember when he cracked it with a guest who was saying Uri Geller was a fraud, he pushed all the guys stuff off the table and told him to "piss off". funny stuff. Besides, anyone who tries to punch Ernie Sigley is ok with me.

  6. Iron Sheik....that's so cool..
