Question about health insurance - benefits paid

Discussion in 'The Pub' at netrider.net.au started by Haggismaen, Aug 26, 2007.

  1. Hey all, figured it was quicker asking here than anywhere. Doing my research on some health insurance but I've got one main question. When the product information says something along the lines of:

"We will pay $27 for the initial consultation and $20 for subsequent consultations"

Do these benefits only apply to when you go to a doctor/specialist that does not have a no-gap agreement with the insurance provider?

Enlighten me, because I'm a health insurance noob.

  2. Yup, because if they a gap provider then your insurance will pay the full amount of the gap between medicare and teh doctors charge rate.

Problem is, I've yet to come across or locate any doctor or medical professional that is a current gap provider and their is no charge to me.

Also, watch the fine print for limits and max number of visits in any year.
