[QLD] Report on road safety benefits of fixed speed cameras

Discussion in 'Politics, Laws, Government & Insurance' at netrider.net.au started by John_M, Oct 7, 2010.

  1. This morning the Chair of the Economic Development Committee in Qld, Mr Evan Moorhead MP, tabled:
    • Report No. 4: Inquiry into the road safety benefits of fixed speed cameras
    • Executive Summary to Report No. 4: Inquiry into the road safety benefits of fixed speed cameras
    • Information Paper No. 1: Inquiry into the road safety benefits of fixed speed cameras, Study tour - Melbourne, 29 and 30 March 2010

Copies of these documents are available from the committee's website at http://www.parliament.qld.gov.au/edc (Select 'Reports' from the grey bar at the top of the page for the report and executive summary and select 'Other publications' for the information paper).

I suggest if you are interested, to simply download the Executive Summary and go to pages 5 to 7 and review the 15 recommendations. You may be surprised to see some good recommendations :)
Of course it is then up to government pollies, TMR and QPS to implement :(.
