ACT Price of rego in the ACT

Discussion in 'Politics, Laws, Government & Insurance' at netrider.net.au started by Malcolm Chalmers, Mar 21, 2015.

  1. Hi all,
So I'm moving to Canberra soon and looking at maybe getting back onto a bike. :))

I was checking out the prices on the web site today and it appears the to register a 250cc bike its only $277.
is that right ? That's a great price if it is.

its says about $690 for anything over 300cc, expensive, but still allot cheaper than a car.

here in QLD i seem to recall bike and car rego is the same. what a rip off.

  3. Isn't it 670 with gio ast ctpi? Why the extra 300+ for a new bike (might be doing this in April)
  4. Lucid MikeyLucid Mikey, that's the price I saw too. Can't see $733 anywhere.
Maybe the extra $300 for a new bike is the road worthy and plates and stuff ?

I'm looking into getting my cars changed over to ACT rego as well and apparently there are a few extra costs involved when you first register a car/bike in the ACT.
