N/A | National Premier Class

Discussion in 'Racing, Motorsports, and Track Days' started by Bear Arse, Sep 6, 2014.

  1. Guys,
Love watching bike racing especially superbikes. However seems there is like two premier classes in Australia?

Can any explain the reason why we have two classes of superbikes here and the strengths and weaknesses of each?

    Kind Regards,
  2. Not anymore. ASBK is gone. Now there's only the Swann series
  3. Sorry RR but you are wrong, ASBK will be back in 2015 without the private promoter ( should read private pillager / destroyer....etc you fill in the adjectives )

In answer to the OP's question....ASBK was run some years ago by the private promoter who is now doing the AUSTRALIASIAN (FX etc) superbike titles .
Due to less than harmonious relations between MA and this promoter, MA management at the time ( who btw, also have a lot to answer for ) decided to appoint another private promoter, whom history will judge as to his 'efforts' with both ASBK and VRRC ...the end result there are now 2 high end national road racing series.....

The debate as to which one is/will ultimately be better is yet to be decided.

Trying to stay a-political here, not leaning toward either camp.
