When I started looking at motorcycles I wasn't really sure how one worked, so a pre-purchase inspection was always the plan. However, since then I've come to terms with the insanity of the used LAMS market, and decided to just try to buy something cheaper (I was targetting ~4000 before). If I buy a bike for 2000-3000 dollars, is there any point in paying 150-250 for an inspection of it? Is it that likely that I'll miss something significant and get ripped off? I've noticed that the used learner bike market in Sydney is insane and trying to get an inspection makes it much harder to get a bike too - at the moment I really couldn't be bothered, I'd rather just use the Netrider checklist. Will this probably be alright? How much of a risk am I taking?
