PPRS Check on pre 1989 bike

Discussion in 'General Motorcycling Discussion' started by Samboss260, Sep 3, 2013.

  1. Looking at some pre 1989 bikes to restore.

And obviously I'd like to do a REVS or PPRS check to ensure that it isn't stolen, has encumburance or is a stat write off.

Only problem is that the bikes do not have a 17 digit VIN number. I've run the number that I have through, but nothing really comes up.

    Any ideas?
  2. The answer that comes up normally if something is unencumbered is something like "no records are found for this number". It is confusing.

    Is that what you got?
  3. It is exactly what I got. Very confusing indeed.
  4. The problem there is that these vehicles are not in the database. You need to go to the relevant organisation for them to do a check of the old records which will cost you money, but the name of the organisation escapes me. So have a Google.
