Powdercoating Recommendations Melbourne

Discussion in 'Businesses and Service Providers' at netrider.net.au started by QuarterWit, Sep 9, 2013.

  1. Hey Y'all,

Getting my sik rims on the Bonneville powdercoated.

I've done some searching, but there hasn't been much about this recently and a few of the businesses I followed up on were no longer operating.

Has anyone had some powdercoating/blasting done recently and would recommend the provider? I know the phonebook is full of powdercoating companies but I'd rather go by word of mouth - especially considering some of the horror stories I've heard about places not plugging bits correctly etc.

  2. Anyone? Bueller?
  3. Nah, I'm in the same boat, you might have to be guinea pig.
  4. Ugh, bugger that.

There is a bloke in Sydney who I trust. Quite tempted to throw the stuff in the back of the car and combine it with a visit to my folks. But also very tempted to find a place 15 minutes away and entrust it to them.
  5. i'll talk to the breh in the coming week. he slid some table legs through for an outdoor setting for a couple bucks onna side but think they generally only handle commercial quantities of things.
  6. Yeah, a lot of the good places only handle larger, commercial-quantity stuff.

One place I've heard mixed things about - from the very, very good to the awful, doesn't do blasting either. The hunt continues...
  7. I had my passenger foot pegs/rear sets done from a place in Kilsyth near HART, ill try and find their contact info and get back to you. Was only like 30-40 bucks or something with some burner screws I just put in from bunnings.
