Discussion in 'Bling and Appearance' started by pro-pilot, Aug 29, 2007.

  1. Looking to respray a swing arm and would like to know if there are any recommendations out there?

Basic costs, time and if they handle bikes or if I need to have it seperates prior.

  2. Hey matey,

Maybe try give Redline motorcycles a buzz. Theyre in Dandenong. They did the rim polishing for me and Tristan there is more than helpful with pretty much anything bikes. Even if he cant do it he would definately point you in the right direction.

  3. Oh, and :woot: for me! 300 posts!
  4. As I write this post I have some parts being done by a company called Harlin Powder Coating. I rang around pretty much every powder coater in Melbourne and no one wanted to know when I said it was bike stuff I wanted done. After a bit of thinking I decided to ring Bob Martin's motorcycle engineering to ask who they use (Bob Martin specialise in motorcycle frame repairs). They gave me Harlin's number.
I took all the bits to Mike who owns the company last Saturday and from talking to him he seemed to know his stuff. I get the bits back this weekend so stay posted and I'll come back and let you know what the finished items look like. In the mean time if you want to ring m them yourself their details are:

    Harlin PC
    1-42 Melverton Drive
    03 9796 3468
  5. Thanks mate. By the way, the kawa is lookin trick!
  6. Cheers bud. Look forward to your assessment!
  7. Used R&N Barr in Bayswater for a Landrover chassis a coupla years, $120 to blast, $120 to paint, big industrial painting place, however they just want the metal - no stuffing around with removing swingarms etc.
  8. If you are looking for someone on the other side of town,
    Mansutti Bros,
    27 Totttenham Pde
    West Footscray. Phone 93144546.
They are good and very reasonable with their costs.
  9. Where I work, we manufacture powder coatings in a range of colours and I could ask the guy I work with if he'd be keen to do a foreigner. If you'd like, you could PM me to see if it can be done in the colour of your choice. I'd suggest having something small done as a sample to see if you like it.

I'm actually thinking of getting hold of a wreck to see what parts can be done before doing mine. I've only had the headlight rim powder coated so far (gloss black) and it came up a treat.
