Possible to fit an oil pressure sensor?

Discussion in 'Modifications and Projects' at netrider.net.au started by MV, Jun 17, 2009.

  1. Hi all, my new bike, Yamaha TRX850, does not have an oil pressure sensor or light, is it possible to fit one? Something I could bolt onto an oil line or such would be best. I guess even gauge would do the job...

If so, where would I find such a thing?

    Thanks in advance!
  2. I fitted one years ago to a TRX850 by utilising a standard automotive sender and aftermarket 12V gauge.
I mounted the sender into the cylinder head oil feed tube replacing the banjo bolt.
Sorry I can't remember any part numbers but if you take the banjo into Repco or Bursons they should match it for you.
Then find 12v off your ignition harness to power the guage.
  3. Great, thanks mate, that's just what I was after.

    Cheers!
