Police using their new toy in Eltham.

  1. On Fitzsimons Lane a little earlier today I saw their new speed toy.

I was heading away from Main Rd when I came over the hill and saw a blue VW van that was parked just near the bridge over the Yarra. It had an arm poking out the side of it with, what looked like, a security camera attached to it.

Just over the crest of the next hill was a sight to behold. Two highway patrol cars lying in wait and two more in the process of booking people.

I've never seen anything like it!

  2. 80 zone there... reasonable limit so no excuse. But yes it is tempting to open it up there.
  3. It was there 2 weeks ago on a Thursday night. It's a NPR cam and when we went past it they had 1 vic roads guy, 2 sheriffs cars and 4 cop cars. The van was parked near the lights and the posse was a couple of hundred yards down the road.

Must be alot of fine defaulters in Eltham lol
