  1. I get the police media release - mostly they're pretty dull but I liked this one.

Police are searching for the driver of a car which collided with a tram and narrowly missed a police officer as it fled the scene in St Kilda last night.

It is believed the driver of a silver Ford sedan attempted to do a burn out and lost control of the vehicle, crashing into the side of a stationary tram on Acland Street around 8.30pm.

The driver has then sped away, almost hitting a Constable on scene for a separate incident, as the car drove erratically down Acland Street.

Members from St Kilda police had been assisting paramedics to treat a drug affected man on the opposite side of the road.

Fortunately, the offending driver was kind enough to leave the car’s bumper bar, with number plate still attached, on the tram tracks.
The vehicle and it’s driver have not yet been located.

No-one was injured in the collision.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or visit www.crimestoppers.com.au.
  2. Saw this on the News over the weekend and yes they caught up with him eventually and impounded the damaged car (actually had no tyre on the left front wheel ! ).
